What Else: The delisting stems from the company&#8217;s failure to meet minimum financial requirements, including $500,000 in net income from continuing operations, as outlined in Nasdaq Listing Rule 5550(b). Trading of Leafly's stock and warrants will be suspended starting January 17.
The securities are expected to trade on the OTC Pink Open Market under the symbols &#8220;LFLY&#8221; and &#8220;LFLYW&#8221; on the same day.
While this shift won&#8217;t impact the company's operations, Leafly cautions that continued market trading of its securities is not guaranteed on over-the-counter markets or elsewhere.

(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VNDA#NASDAQ">VNDA</a>) for Tradipitant for symptoms in gastroparesis.
The <a target="_blank" href="https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-01027.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">notice</a> offers Vanda an opportunity to request a hearing on the matter.

In September, the FDA issued a Complete Response Letter to the company. The agency disregarded the evidence provided and instead suggested that Vanda conduct additional studies with a design and duration inconsistent with the advice of key experts in the field and not appropriate based on the scientific understanding and natural <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/24/09/40941051/fda-strikes-off-vanda-pharmaceuticals-tradipitant-for-stomach-paralysis-asks-for-additional-studi" rel="noreferrer noopener">course of the disorder</a>.&nbsp;
Last week, Vanda Pharmaceuticals wrote a letter to the FDA Commissioner highlighting faulty <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/n42886503/vandas-letter-to-fda-commissioner-highlights-faulty-gastroparesis-nda-review" rel="noreferrer noopener">gastroparesis NDA review</a>.
The FDA identified:

<li>In the 3301 Phase 3 Study (Group 1), the drug did not show a statistically significant improvement over placebo for nausea severity or other gastroparesis symptoms. Secondary measures results also lacked meaningful differences and sometimes even favored the placebo.</li>
<li>2301 Phase 2 Study: While it showed significant results for nausea at Week 4, the study had methodological flaws and inadequate data handling, reducing the reliability of its findings. Additionally, Study 3301 failed to confirm the results of Study 2301.</li>
<li>Confirmatory Evidence: Post hoc analyses and pooled data from the studies were insufficient to support efficacy claims. Other sources, such as open-label studies and unrelated motion sickness trials, could not confirm the drug&#8217;s effectiveness.</li>
<li>Safety: Data from trials were limited to 12 weeks, which is inadequate for a chronic condition like gastroparesis that requires long-term treatment. Animal and lab studies did not provide enough information to assess long-term safety risks for humans.</li>
</ul>
The FDA recommended conducting two new, well-designed clinical trials in adults with idiopathic or diabetic gastroparesis to address the deficiencies and perform a long-term toxicity study in a non-rodent species.
Vanda could either resubmit the application addressing all deficiencies, withdraw the application, or request a hearing.
In November 2024, Vanda received a formal notice of opportunity for a hearing.
Price Action: VNDA stock is down 2.45% at $4.34 at the last check on Thursday.

My firm, <a href="http://lcmcapital.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LCM Capital Management</a>, has always despised the New Year since our firm's inception more than 25 years ago.  The reason: it's when our financial industry parades out their analysts, strategists, and economists, aka "experts", and tell the investing population what they believe is going to happen in the coming year.  Which stocks or sectors to own or not to own, what will happen with the economy and interest rates?  The problem is, they are almost always wrong and yet investors seem to take their guesses, and that's all they are, as Gospel.  Do your portfolio a favor, as our clients tend to do, and turn-off CNBC and all the talking heads on TV this time of year.  
These "experts," armed with complex models, historical data, and sophisticated analytics can play a role in shaping public policy and guiding business strategies and forming investment decisions. &nbsp;They project confidence in their ability to predict the future and yet, year after year, economic forecasts fall wide of the mark.
So why are economists, analysts and market strategists so often wrong, and what does this mean for those who invest based on their predictions, particularly investors nearing retirement?

The Federal Reserve and Inflation (2021–2022) &#8211; In 2021, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell famously described rising inflation as &#8220;transitory.&#8221;&nbsp; The Fed anticipated that inflationary pressures, driven by supply chain disruptions and pandemic-related stimulus, would subside quickly. &nbsp;Instead, inflation surged to multi-decade highs, forcing the Fed into its most aggressive interest rate hiking cycle in 40 years. &nbsp;At the end, when the Fed was finally done raising rates, Fed Chairman Powell said, "We now understand better how little we understand about inflation."&nbsp;
This miscalculation wasn't just a simple slip-up—it had real, lasting consequences. &nbsp;Businesses, consumers, and investors made decisions based on the Fed's assurances, only to face unexpected economic challenges as inflation persisted. &nbsp;And think about this: there are more than 400 PhD economists employed by the Federal Reserve Board and they were dead wrong as to how high, how long, and how severe inflation would be and how deep the subsequent recession would last. I am sure these are some of the brightest minds in our country and yet, even with all of the data and information at their fingertips, they were wrong. However, common sense and the lessons of the past led many "experts" to believe that the inverted yield curve caused by the Fed's unprecedented monetary tightening signaled a recession ahead.&nbsp; They were incorrect as well. &nbsp;So how possibly can someone, for example say Jim Cramer, predict what will happen this year or the next? &nbsp;He can't, and while I find Mr. Cramer sometimes entertaining, he is a journalist first and foremost.
Another recent example, as the world emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, many economists predicted a sluggish, protracted recovery. &nbsp;Instead, global economies bounced back faster than anyone expected, thanks to an unprecedented wave of fiscal and monetary stimulus. &nbsp;Consumer spending surged, and labor markets tightened, defying predictions of a drawn-out downturn. &nbsp;During the pandemic, as tech stocks soared, many economists and analysts warned of an impending collapse akin to the dot-com bubble of the early 2000s. &nbsp;Sure, some overvalued companies took a hit, but the sector turned out to be much more resilient than expected and the S&amp;P 500 rose by over 18% that year, way above the historical average rate of return of 7.71% when adjusted for inflation and including dividends.
But let's cut these "experts" some slack, after all they are all human beings and as a result, are just as prone to mental shortcuts and biases as the rest of us. &nbsp;Confirmation bias, which is the tendency of people to favor information that confirms or strengthens their beliefs or values, is difficult to dislodge once affirmed and can lead them to favor data that supports their existing theories. &nbsp;Overconfidence bias can result in undue certainty about uncertain outcomes. &nbsp;Just to be clear, we are not believers that AI or computers etc. can do any better predicting the future. &nbsp;They can't. &nbsp;They all use historical data to help them formulate their best guesses and always remember, in the end, it is still just a guess.
So what should investors do?&nbsp; First, your New Years resolution should be to turn off CBNC or whatever your favored business channel is, or at the very least, mute it! &nbsp;By spreading your investments across asset classes, sectors, and geographies, you can help reduce your exposure to any single economic or financial outcome. &nbsp;A well-diversified portfolio can help mitigate the risks associated with inaccurate forecasts. Maintaining a long-term outlook can help you weather periods of volatility and uncertainty. &nbsp;Lastly, control what you can control. &nbsp;While you can't control inflation rates or GDP growth, you can control your TV's volume, and the fees you pay, as well as your savings rate, spending habits, and investment discipline. &nbsp;Prioritizing these factors can have a more significant impact on your financial future than any forecast. &nbsp;By realizing that the future is uncertain and focusing on what you can control, you'll be better equipped to navigate the ever-changing economic landscape as well as become a happier person.
In the end, realize that these "experts" are likely bright people with plenty of information and research available to them. &nbsp;However, they are only making an educated guess at best because if they actually knew what was going to happen, they would already be retired. &nbsp;The late founder of Vanguard, Jack Bogle, once said, "Research has no net value…no one has been able to validate that stock research has any value. If research had value, it would be called proprietary and therefore would be extremely expensive and unavailable for public viewing"
Therefore, stay informed about economic trends, but approach all predictions with a healthy dose of cynicism. &nbsp;Too often, well-informed economists' predictions are far from accurate or reliable. &nbsp;The complexity of global economies, combined with the unpredictability of human behavior and external shocks, makes accurate forecasting a near-impossible task.
Remember what the famed economist John Kenneth Galbraith once said, "There are two kinds of forecasters: those who don't know, and those who don't know they don't know."

Microsoft is currently trading around our level of 427.36. Bulls need to defend this level to see an upward move toward 428.48. If this level holds as support, price action may advance to 429.25. If 427.36 is lost as support, we anticipate a move lower toward 426.00. Should sellers maintain control, price could slide further to 425.16. Increased selling pressure may lead to a test of 423.81. If this level is breached, our low bear target for the session is 422.84.
NVIDIA Corporation NVIDIA is currently auctioning near our key level of 137.94. Bulls need to maintain strength above this level to drive price action toward 138.55. If this level holds as support, an extension higher to 139.42 is likely. Further buying pressure could result in a rally toward 140.28, with our high bull target set at 141.21. 
If 137.94 fails to hold, we expect sellers to test support at 136.98. Continued bearish momentum could lead to a decline toward 135.64. If this level breaks, NVIDIA may test 134.56 as the next key support. If selling persists, our low bear target for the session is 133.31.
Alphabet Inc Class A 
Alphabet is currently trading near 193.14. Bulls want to maintain support at this level to initiate a move higher toward 194.34. If buyers remain in control, we anticipate a push toward 195.41 as our high bull target for the session.&nbsp;
If 193.14 fails as support, sellers may look to drive price action lower to 192.19. Continued bearish momentum could see a test of 191.45. If selling pressure remains strong, a further decline to our low bear target of 190.41 is likely.
Meta Platforms Inc 
Meta is currently trading around our level of 609.30. Bulls need to defend this support level to see an upward move toward 615.65. A break above this resistance could open the door for a push to 622.01. Continued bullish strength may lead to a move toward our high bull target of 629.88.&nbsp;
If 609.30 is lost as support, we anticipate a move lower toward 604.50. If sellers maintain control, price action could slide further to 598.17. A break below this level may see Meta reaching our low bear target of 591.29 for the day.
Tesla Inc. 
Tesla is currently trading near our key level of 426.23. Bulls need to push price action higher to reclaim 431.50. If buying momentum persists, we expect a move toward 437.95. Keefe, Bruyette &amp; Woods analyst David Konrad reiterated an <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Outperform rating</a> on the shares of Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>) and raised the price forecast to $690 from $686.
The analyst notes Goldman Sachs posted an<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/01/43000353/goldman-sachs-q4-earnings-equity-and-debt-underwriting-fuel-revenue-boost-assets-under-management-hit-record-314-trillion" rel="noreferrer noopener"> impressive quarterly performance</a>, fueled by substantial gains in trading and continued growth in Asset Management.
According to the analyst, trading revenue surged 33% year-over-year despite a tough comparison, with equities remaining stable quarter-over-quarter amid usual seasonal trends.
The firm&#8217;s strategy of leveraging its balance sheet was evident, with equity financing rising 16% from the previous quarter and 36% year-over-year.
While the stock remains pricey relative to historical multiples at 1.92x TBV, it is still considered an attractive option for those looking to invest in capital markets, per the analyst.
Due to robust revenues from capital markets and asset management, the analyst raises 2025 earnings estimate by $1.80 to $47.15 and 2026 earnings estimate by $0.65 to $53.00.
The analyst says there was strong demand for deal-making, with backlogs rising quarter-over-quarter.
The analyst notes that the strength in Markets was led by Equities, which stood out this quarter at $3.5 billion, surpassing expectations by $1.41 per share, driven by increased intermediation revenue from both derivatives and cash products.
Management fees reached $2.8 billion, marking a 15% increase and a $0.15 per share beat compared to KBWe&#8217;s estimates.
According to the analyst, Goldman Sachs also continued to reduce its on-balance-sheet investments, now totaling $36.5 billion.

Hazel explained that she earns $24 a month doing chores and is planning to start babysitting soon to earn even more. She said she already has $4,000 in a savings account and that her parents want her to open a custodial Roth IRA.&nbsp;
"I don&#8217;t want to open a custodial Roth IRA because I want to be able to use the money when I&#8217;m younger and invest in a house," Hazel wrote. "What do you think?"

Orman applauded Hazel for her foresight and ambition and offered some advice tailored to Hazel's situation. "Yeah, you could put that into a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/01/42757069/i-dont-care-what-tax-bracket-youre-in-suze-orman-insists-youd-be-crazy-to-have-anything-other-than-a-roth-retirement-account">Roth IRA</a> like your parents want you to," Orman stated. "However, I like your idea. I have to tell you, I would open up a Uniform Gift to Minors Act account."
Opening a UGMA account would allow Hazel, with her parents' help, to invest her earnings in stocks or exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through platforms like Fidelity or Schwab. The key advantage? Hazel would have access to the funds once she reaches adulthood, enabling her to use them for significant milestones like buying a house.&nbsp;
Orman also recommended that Hazel invest her $24 monthly income consistently, emphasizing the value of starting small but staying consistent.

Let's breakdown UGMA accounts versus custodial Roth IRAs a bit further.&nbsp;
A UGMA account is a custodial account that allows minors to own securities and other assets under the management of a parent or guardian. Once the child reaches the age of majority (18 or 21, depending on the state), the assets become fully theirs to use as they see fit. UGMA accounts do not have the same tax advantages as Roth IRAs but offer greater flexibility for accessing funds before retirement.
A custodial Roth IRA is a retirement savings account for minors who earn income. Contributions grow tax-free and withdrawals in retirement are also tax-free. <li>Here is another indication of extreme positive sentiment.&nbsp; The market focused on 0.1% cooler core CPI but totally ignored the headline CPI that was hotter.&nbsp; The headline CPI includes food and energy.&nbsp; Prudent investors should note that people are still eating food and putting gas in their cars.&nbsp; Gas prices are going up.&nbsp; Is inflation really tamed as the stock market believed yesterday?&nbsp; Looking forward, insurance costs for consumers are also going to go up after the Los Angeles fires.&nbsp; The rise in insurance costs will not be limited to Los Angeles but will be felt across the country.</li>
<li>Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) is the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world. Taiwan Semiconductor is the manufacturer of semiconductors for Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) and NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>). <li>Weekly initial jobless claims are creeping up.&nbsp; Claims came at 217K vs 212K consensus.&nbsp;</li>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Magnificent Seven Money Flows</h4>
In the early trade, money flows are positive in Amazon.com, Inc., NVDA, MSFT, and AAPL.
In the early trade, money flows are neutral in Tesla Inc.
In the early trade, money flows are negative in Alphabet Inc Class C and Meta Platforms Inc.
In the early trade, money flows are neutral in SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust and Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Momo Crowd And Smart Money In Stocks</h4>
Investors can gain an edge by knowing money flows in SPY and QQQ.  Investors can get a bigger edge by knowing when smart money is buying stocks, gold, and oil.  The most popular ETF for gold is SPDR Gold Trust.  The most popular ETF for silver is iShares Silver Trust.  The most popular ETF for oil is United States Oil ETF.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Bitcoin</h4>
Bitcoin is rangebound trading just below 100,000.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Protection Band And What To Do Now</h4>
It is important for investors to look ahead and not in the rearview mirror.&nbsp; The proprietary protection band from The Arora Report is very popular.&nbsp; The protection band puts all of the data, all of the indicators, all of the news, all of the crosscurrents, all of the models, and all of the analysis in an analytical framework that is easily actionable by investors.&nbsp;
Consider continuing to hold good, very long term, existing positions. Based on individual risk preference, consider a protection band consisting of cash or Treasury bills or short-term tactical trades as well as short to medium term hedges and short term hedges. This is a good way to protect yourself and participate in the upside at the same time.
You can determine your protection bands by adding cash to hedges.&nbsp; The high band of the protection is appropriate for those who are older or conservative. The low band of the protection is appropriate for those who are younger or aggressive.&nbsp; If you do not hedge, the total cash level should be more than stated above but significantly less than cash plus hedges.
A protection band of 0% would be very bullish and would indicate full investment with 0% in cash.&nbsp; A protection band of 100% would be very bearish and would indicate a need for aggressive protection with cash and hedges or aggressive short selling.
It is worth reminding that you cannot take advantage of new upcoming opportunities if you are not holding enough cash.&nbsp; When adjusting hedge levels, consider adjusting partial stop quantities for stock positions (non ETF); consider using wider stops on remaining quantities and also allowing more room for high beta stocks.&nbsp; High beta stocks are the ones that move more than the market.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Traditional 60/40 Portfolio</h4>
Probability based risk reward adjusted for inflation does not favor long duration strategic bond allocation at this time.
Those who want to stick to traditional 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds may consider focusing on only high quality bonds and bonds of five year duration or less.&nbsp; Those willing to bring sophistication to their investing may consider using bond ETFs as tactical positions and not strategic positions at this time.

Bond Rally Drives Stock Market, Taiwan Semi Results Show AI Demand, Manipulators Having A Heyday With Quantum Computing

Agora shares are trading higher after B of A Securities upgraded the stock from Neutral to Buy and raised its price target from $3.1 to $6.

JP Morgan analyst Kian Abouhossein shared views on Morgan Stanley&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MS#NYSE">MS</a>) fourth-quarter <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/large-cap/25/01/43029150/morgan-stanley-q4-earnings-profit-doubles-ceo-calls-it-one-of-strongest-years-aims-for-prudent-dividend-growth" rel="noreferrer noopener">results reported today.</a>
The bank reported an adjusted EPS of $2.22, up from $0.85 a year ago and beating the consensus of $1.70. Revenue of $16.22 billion, up 26% year over year, beat the&nbsp;consensus of $15.03 billion.
The analyst writes that Morgan Stanley&#8217;s Investment Banking performance is strong, with Equity S&amp;T rising 51% year-over-year (JPM estimate +18%) to $3.3 billion, outperforming the U.S. peers.
The analyst also adds that FICC performed well, growing 35% year over year (JPM estimates +19%) versus an average of 25% among its U.S. peers.
With a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/MS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Neutral rating </a>on the stock, the analyst expects Morgan Stanley&#8217;s shares to outperform peers today.
Abouhossein expects mid-to-high single-digit % EPS upgrades to 2025 consensus but this would be partly dependent on earnings conference call.
During the conference call, the analyst anticipates questions regarding Wealth Management NII, the outlook for IB fee growth following optimistic comments from peers.
Also, the analyst expects the bank to provide outlook for share buybacks, which were in line with JP Morgan estimates expectations at $0.75 billion for the fourth quarter.

JP Morgan analyst Christopher Horvers reiterated the Neutral rating on Target Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TGT#NYSE">TGT</a>).
The company reported a 2.8% increase in holiday sales during the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/43027043/target-posts-strong-holiday-sales-stock-surges" rel="noreferrer noopener">November and December period.</a>
The company saw comparable sales rise 2% and solid sales during the Black Friday and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/TGT/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cyber Monday promotions</a>. The increase was fueled by a nearly 3% rise in traffic, positively impacting both in-store and online channels.
According to the analyst, the +2% growth suggests a weather shift from the third quarter and slight consumer improvement.
Horvers writes that the company explained that the +2% growth in November/December and the updated fourth quarter guide were due to the calendar shift, not a change in trends, and no updates were provided for January.

Additionally, the retailer&#8217;s strong apparel performance, despite excess inventory, raises hopes for better-than-expected margins, the analyst notes.
The holiday pre-announce was Target&#8217;s first since FY20 and served as a sales update, without changing its EPS guidance for the fourth quarter ($1.85 &#8211; $2.45) or FY24 ($8.30 &#8211; $8.90).
The lack of updated EPS guidance is seen as a sales update, with the existing range being broad. Given historical trends, the analyst sees the higher end of the EPS range is more likely.
The company highlighted strong performance in apparel, boosted by cold weather, and in toys, driven by more accessible prices.
However, it noted that not all discretionary categories saw growth, with electronics remaining flat.
Additionally, management pointed out that the third quarter was not as weak as initially thought due to weather, Horvers adds.
