The CNN Money Fear and Greed index showed some improvement in the overall market sentiment, while the index remained in the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Monday.
U.S. stocks settled lower on Monday, with the Dow Jones index falling more than 100 points during the session after President Donald Trump announced plans to pause tariffs against Mexico for one month. The index dipped as much as 665.6 points earlier during the session.
Owens &amp; Minor Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OMI#NYSE">OMI</a>) shares dipped 35% on Monday after the company issued lower-than-expected fourth-quarter and FY24 preliminary revenue results. Tyson Foods Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSN#NYSE">TSN</a>) posted better-than-expected first-quarter FY25 earnings results.
On the economic data front, U.S. construction spending increased by 0.5% month-over-month to an annual rate of $2,192 billion in December following a revised 0.2% gain in November. The ISM manufacturing PMI for the US climbed to 50.9 in January versus a revised reading of 49.2 in December topping estimates of 49.8.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a negative note, with consumer discretionary, information technology, and industrials stocks recording losses on Monday. However, utilities and consumer staples stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session higher.
The Dow Jones closed lower by around 123 points to 44,421.91 on Monday. The S&amp;P 500 fell 0.76% to 5,994.57, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.20% at 19,391.96 during Monday's session.

What Happened: The 2025 all-wheel drive variant of the Cybertruck is eligible for the tax credit, Tesla announced in a post on social media platform X. If the purchase price of the vehicle does not exceed $80,000 and the customer meets the gross income limitations for availing the tax credit, they can take ownership of the truck for $72,490.
The all-wheel drive version of the Cybertruck starts at $79,990 without tax credit.

The more expensive Cyberbeast variant of the truck starts at $99,990 and exceeds the price bar to be eligible for the tax credit. 
As per the U.S. government&#8217;s fueleconomy.gov&nbsp;website, the single-motor variant of the Cybertruck is also eligible for the tax credit but the company is yet to start the production of the variant. The <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42759653/cybertruck-all-wheel-drive-now-eligible-for-7500-ev-tax-credit">rear-wheel drive single-motor variant</a> will start at $53,490 after the tax credit once delivery starts.
Why It Matters:&nbsp;Currently, all variants of the Model Y and Model 3 in addition to the Model X all-wheel drive variant sold in the U.S. are also eligible for $7,500&nbsp;electric vehicle consumer tax credits.
However, the very existence of the electric vehicle consumer tax credits is currently in question. In November, Reuters reported that President-elect&nbsp;Donald Trump's&nbsp;transition team is planning to kill the $7,500 consumer tax credit for electric vehicle purchases as part of broader tax-reform legislation. Tesla representatives reportedly supported the proposal to end the subsidy.

During Tesla's second-quarter earnings in late July, Musk alleged that the impact of the elimination of subsidies&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39934750/trump-presidency-and-ira-cut-would-be-devastating-for-competitors-says-elon-musk-long-term-probably" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">would only be slight for Tesla</a>&nbsp;but devastating for its competitors. The elimination of EV subsidies would probably help Tesla in the long term, he added.

Why It Matters: El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as its legal tender in 2021,&nbsp; and it has <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/09/41084132/nayib-bukeles-el-salvador-is-mainstreaming-bitcoin-by-putting-the-price-where-everyone-can">since pursued an ambitious strategy</a> to integrate the digital asset into the various aspects of its citizens' lives.
However, despite these efforts, the adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender in the country <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/08/40644084/el-salvador-president-nayib-bukele-says-bitcoin-uptake-hasnt-been-a-resounding-success-we-">hasn't seen the expected widespread uptake</a>.
Last week, the government <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/01/43336076/el-salvador-changes-bitcoin-law-but-legal-tender-status-remains">scaled back its Bitcoin push</a>, making its acceptance voluntary rather than mandatory, to satisfy conditions set by the International Monetary Fund in return for a $1.4 billion loan agreement.
