Multinational retailer Walmart Inc.&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WMT#NYSE">WMT</a>) e-commerce businesses turned profitable for the first time in the U.S. and globally during the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year despite looming tariff uncertainties.
What Happened: CEO Doug McMillon expressed optimism over the company&#8217;s e-commerce initiatives during the earnings call and highlighted that it&#8217;s not only serving its customers and members but also making their business more profitable with higher returns over time.
&#8220;We achieved eCommerce profitability, both in the U.S. as well as for the global enterprise in Q1 for the first time, an important milestone for our company,&#8221; he said.
Globally, Walmart&#8217;s e-commerce business grew by 22%, with each segment delivering growth of at least 20%.
The three segments of its e-commerce businesses encompassed growth from Walmart U.S., Walmart International, and its Sam&#8217;s Club U.S. businesses.
&#8220;We&#8217;re encouraged by the fact that eCommerce growth across all three segments continues to be strong, all three segments growing more than 20%,&#8221; added McMillon.
Meanwhile, while addressing the tariff issue, he thanked President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for the progress made recently. He hoped for a longer-term agreement with China amid the ongoing 90-day pause.
However, he added that &#8220;We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. But given the magnitude of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we aren&#8217;t able to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins.&#8221;
&#8220;All of the tariffs create cost pressure for us, but the larger tariffs on China have the biggest impact,&#8221; explained McMillon.

UnitedHealth Group has faced a string of negative catalysts over the past couple of months, starting with <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care/24/12/42316904/unitedhealthcare-ceo-brian-thompson-fatally-shot-outside-nyc-hotel">the assassination</a> of its subsidiary, UnitedHealthcare&#8217;s CEO, Brian Thompson, in December 2024. Since then, the company has faced lawsuits from investors, who claim the company hid the potential impact of this assassination.
Early this month, Cramer <a href="https://benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/25/05/45133450/jim-cramer-this-consumer-cyclical-stock-is-a-one-trick-pony">changed his stance</a> on the stock, saying that he would &#8220;indeed start a position&#8221; in the stock at $400 a share after being &#8220;very negative&#8221; on it. The stock has since dropped 31% in the preceding two weeks.
Price Action: Shares of UnitedHealth were down 10.93% on Thursday, despite the company dismissing claims of a federal criminal investigation. It is up 1.29% after hours.

Jim Cramer Reacts As UnitedHealth Denies  Report On Criminal Probe—'If Convicted of Criminal Medicare Fraud…'

Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>) executive chairman, Michael Saylor, says the company, formerly known as MicroStrategy, could survive a brutal crypto winter, but its shareholders wouldn&#8217;t be too happy about it.
What Happened: In a new Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/video/4d1a1666-20d4-4930-ab80-eda742640f16">film</a> and subsequent interviews, Saylor warned that if Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) "fell 90 per cent and stayed there for four or five years, we would still be stable," yet equity investors "would suffer because they're levered."
The alert comes as MicroStrategy — already the world's largest corporate holder of the token at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/05/45349057/strategy-buys-134b-in-bitcoin-at-99856-cites-155-btc-yield">568,840 BTC</a> worth about $59 billion — keeps piling on debt and preferred-stock financings to buy more.
Saylor's endgame is simple. "Whoever gets the most bitcoin wins. Why It Matters: These stocks have added $3.57 to their market caps since <a href="https://benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45414023/magnificent-seven-add-36-trillion-since-april-lows-is-this-rally-just-beginning">their April lows</a>, with $1.2 trillion in gains coming within just two days of the trade de-escalations with China early this week. 
The group witnessed steep pullbacks following President Donald Trump&#8217;s Liberation Day tariffs, owing to their global scale and operations. Even after the pause was announced, the <a href="https://benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44916598/tariff-pause-fizzles-mag-7-stocks-slide-back-to-pre-pause-lows">stocks slipped back</a> to their pre-pause lows last month, as turbulent market conditions and uncertainties continued to persist.
While most stocks in this group still remain in the red year-to-date, they&#8217;ve recovered significantly over the past week, with the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#BATS">MAGS</a>), which tracks this grouping, rallying 21.90% over the past month.
The rising put option volumes could be in response to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45435170/jim-cramer-says-this-will-hurt-apple-president-trump-making-it-tough">fresh set of uncertainties</a> surrounding trade and tariffs by the current U.S. Administration. For instance, on Thursday, it was revealed that Trump is pressuring Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop iPhone production in India and bring manufacturing back to the United States instead.
